TESCON President arrested for claiming Regional Minister didn't bath before meeting president Akuffo Addo
Sayiby Afa Yaba, head of the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the NPP (TESCON) at Tamale Technical University, has reportedly been detained by police in the Northern Region because of remarks he made regarding the region's minister on social media. The regional minister, Alhaji Saani Alhassan, did not take a bath before leading a delegation to welcome president Akuffo Addo during his visit to the area, the TESCON president allegedly claimed in a Facebook comment on the evening of Wednesday, July 10, 2022. This led to the president of the organization being detained, according to a report by Radio Tamale. The president of the TTU Student Representative Council (SRC), Dauda Gafaru, confirmed the arrest in an interview with Radio Tamale the morning following the arrest.
