You are acting like king Nebuchadnezzar, Kwakye Ofosu to President Akuffo Addo over national cathedral

Ofosu, a former deputy minister of communications, reacted angrily to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's belief that opponents of the National Cathedral project exhibited traits similar to those of Sanballat and Tobias.

Kwakye Ofosu claims that President Akufo-Addo's obsession with the National Cathedral is an attempt to play the religious card.

He claims that President Akufo-Addo seeks to hide the shortcomings of his administration by using the National Cathedral.

Ofosu Kwakye stated on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana program that God does not support the initiative and that the government should instead concentrate on reviving the faltering economy.

He is acting in a manner akin to that of Ahab, Nebuchadnezzar, and all the evil kings in the Bible combined. Ahab is referred to in the Bible as the guy who exchanged his soul for the devil. The level of leadership that President Akufo-Addo is providing is that.

"After engaging in such abhorrent administration, you went and hid behind extremism in religion. After you've mismanaged the economy, you want to hide behind fanaticism. There are some people who have provided the government with services worth GHC40 million who are not getting paid. Go check out that project," he advised.

On Sunday, December 18, 2022, President Akufo-Addo reaffirmed his resolve to seeing the National Cathedral finished.

"Like Sanballat and Tobias in the days of Nehemiah, there are some who do not share my opinions on the construction of the National Cathedral. I respect their right to disagree, but I am confident in my decision because of the huge number of ardent supporters of this project whose spiritual dimension is limitless." "The will serve not only as the nation's collective thanksgiving to the Almighty for the blessings He has bestowed on our country, sparing us the ravages of civil war that have bedevilled the histories of virtually all our neighbors and the outbreak of deadly mass epidemics," the statement reads. "But also as a rallying point for the entire Christian community of Ghana, which represents 70+% of the population."
