We could recall that on the late hours of Friday August 5, 2022 there was an alleged clash between members of Commonwealth hall and Mensah Sarbah hall. The incident has since then taken over all media platforms all over the country. In order to prevent the good name of the vandal city from going into disrepute, the leadership of the hall has came out to deny the reportage of clashing with Mensah Sarbah hall.

In a letter dated 7th August,2022, signed by the JCR president, Mr. Paul Anim Nkoom and secretary, Mr. Daniel Kofi Boakye, it stated that there was no violent clash of any sort between the two halls. Below is the full statement of the hall.

"The attention of the leadership of Commonwealth Hall Junior Common Room (JCR) has been drawn to some media reportage and a press release emanating from the university management dated 6th August 2022, echoing a clash between students of Commonwealth Hall and Mensah Sarbah Hall".

"It  is worth noticing, that the Commonwealth Hall pride itself as a citadel of excellence and does not condone any form of  violence of which the said incidence is no exception".

"Commonwealth  Hall JCR seeks to, by this communique, dissociate itself from the said acts of violence. We will like to state unequivocally that commonwealth Hall has not engaged in any act of violence and hereby condemns any attempt by any office or media house to put the Hall's name into disrepute".

"Commonwealth  hall JCR also wishes to commend the security agencies for their swift intervention to bring the situation under control on the said day and to also call on appropriate authorities to punish those found culpable of this lawless act".
