Deadline for SIM registration extended

                                                         Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the minister of communication and digitalization, has extended the deadline for SIM registration until September 30, 2022. This happened after the deadline had passed and many citizens were still unable to register their cards. She claims that she was compelled to extend the date due to valid justifications provided by several parties, including telecommunications firms. The text of her entire news conference statement from July 31, 2022, in Accra is reproduced below. "The NIA was unable to provide the Ghana Card to all eligible individuals. The Ghana Card has been registered for by 16,969,034 people as of Thursday, July 21, 2022, and approximately 16,535,623 cards have been printed. Covid 19 Update: New cases recorded

According to updates from the Ghana Health service as at Sunday, July 30, 18 new corona virus cases have been confirmed bringing the total active cases to 286. The Greater Accra region is leading the log with total active case count at 105. A total of 168,007 cases have been recorded since the day Ghana confirmed its first case of the virus. 166,267 people have been able to recover from the virus and a total of 1,457 have sadly succumbed to the virus. These are the regional distributions of the total confirmed cases.
